    Hello,

    Thank You,

Just went through this problem in the last couple of days.

The solution for me was to seal up the frame with electrical tape and use a vacuum to suck string down the seat tube and out the cable hole near the bottom bracket. I then tied and taped on an outer cable to the string (with a greased end bent 1 cm in at about 70 degrees). Pulled the string to get it in to the correct corner position and then making sure the bend was facing the right way, pushed it down from the top through the corner and up to the exit point where I used a wire hook to pull it out.

Ok, just installed the Giant Contact Switch. I simply (not so simple) kept jamming the housing through the frame until it popped up the seat tube. Worked best when running the housing down the downtube then up the seat tube.

You could also run a derailleur cable up the seat tube from the plug below the BBs, then run the other half up the downtube. Then push some housing through it.

That worked on an 2014 Anthem

I stupidly cut too much cable and have to buy more. Does anyone know what size cable to buy? Are there different mm ?

Use a Shimano derailleur cable and housing, you will be all good. I recommend Shimano as I have found that they control the size of the barrel at the end of the cable very well. Occasionally, I have gotten a non-Shimano cable and had a very difficult time getting the cable barrel out of the switch mechanism.

    Good luck!

Would you happen to have a good website to get it from? I looked on Pricepoint and only found brake cable. Can I use that?

No to both, sorry. I would recommend going to your LBS and picking up the cable/housing you need. I am sure they will appreciate the business.

Only a derailleur cable will work, a brake cable is larger in diameter and has a much different barrel than a derailleur cable.

I just replaced the cable in my Contact Switch SL tonight and used Giant branded cable. We sell it for $3 a cable at the shop I work at. I've used both Shimano and Giant cables and housings and never noticed a difference between any of them. If you have a Giant dealer near you they should sell the same cable. They're cheap, work great, and you don't have to wait on shipping!

My bad, I see what your question is now, you're wondering if you have the version where you can flip the cartridge in the seat post to route it internally right? I honestly don't have an answer for that. If the stanchion is the gold(ish) one I don't believe you can run that one internally, but I'm not 100%. I think the internal option started on the updated, black stanchioned model.
