Giant contact seat post troubles ?

    HI ALL,

I just a giant contact adjustable seat installed for my girlfriend on her giant cypher
now when i put it into bike frame ( which is a small ) it bottoms out in the seat tube as the frame bends slightly, well then it is still to high for my girlfriend !

What can I do anyone know ?
there is about 1"-1.5 " on the inside of the seat post where i could possible cut it off before you hit the internals of the seat post but this is probably not reccomended by giant or anyone else, as it is not like our normal seat posts.

Now does anyone no if they come in 2 sizes like the rock shox reverb ?

Any help would be very much appreciated.

    thx

    Andy

Why can't you just cut the extra length from the bottom of the post
(I assume there is more than enough shaft in your girlfriends seat tube if the new one is going deeper than the previous one...)

Because he may cut through some of the internals that allow the seat post to extend or compress

    hi fellas ,

yes i dont want to cut it unless have to, I am sure they are designed not to be cut and found out there is a 375mm one and a 400 mm one and we have the 400mm.
Hopefully the 25mm / 1" makes the difference needed, i'll test this all out with old seat post.

    thx for your input.

My bad, thought there was plain shaft portion at bottom.

    Good luck with 375mm version.
