Does anyone here have a XTC Advanced 1 29er? How is it?

I am considering getting the 2015 1 model. I primarily want to get it because of its carbon/composite frame... the engineering specs are amazing compared to the aluminum alloy "ALUXX" that Giant uses. My wife rides a 2015 Stance and it's very stiff, just like my 2015 Specialized RH. The ALUXX and the aluminum alloy that Specialized uses are pretty much the same, specially since Giant does manufacture for Specialized.

I want to go harder on the bike and definitely punish it more than what I do now and also want the lighter weight.

So can anyone tell me their experience with the XTC? Thanks!Does anyone here have a XTC Advanced 1 29er? How is it?-cam01245.jpgDoes anyone here have a XTC Advanced 1 29er? How is it?-cam01243.jpg

I have an Advanced SL1. Had an XTC Composite. They are very different as far as ride characteristics. The SL1 is much more compliant but gives up very little as far as power transfer. I was getting beat up on longer rides of over 30 miles with the XTC composite. I believe the 2015 "advanced" uses the composite style frame with new layup and carbon. Not sure how it rides in comparison to the older XTC Composite. But I would say if you are riding 30 miles or less it will fine. The geometry is steep XC style so be aware, it isn't a DH bike. It is a strong frame and wouldn't worry about riding it hard (within reason). As with any carbon, direct impacts such as rocks are to be avoided.

Overall, I love this bike on longer rides. Still have a FS for some terrain but this bike is great on climbs and longer rides. XC and endurance rides are the XTC Advanced strength.

It looks like 2015 Advanced is just rebadged Composite from old.

Advanced pre 2015 had different shape and post mount brake on chainstay.

It should be with upgraded carbon material, T700 instead of T600 in the composite frame.
