    ax29 creaking

has anyone located the source for the linkage creak? is there one specific bearing that goes bad or do they all need to be replaced?

My AX29 was creaking a bit after a few months, I checked the torque on the cranks, to make sure that wasn't it, then carried it back to my lbs. They verified torque for all the linkages, and checked that, put a tiny tiny bit of tri-flow on each one, and it hasn't made a sound since.

What year is it? How old? How many miles/hours on it? Lots of variables here. Creaks can come from a hundred different places and people often assume it's from the linkages. Most often, believe it or not, it's from the seatpost.

I had a truckload of creaking and sourced it to the seat flexing and mainly the seat post which was as dry as a nuns nasty!

Bit of grease and now all good.

    Hi,
I sourced a creak from seatpost clamp. Not from post, but actually from clamp.I took it off frame and greased where it sits on frame. No creaks now!
    Thanx,
