Anyone else happy with their Talon 29er ??

Just gotta say I'm very happy with my Talon 1 and glad I bought it. It has taken my riding to the next level and I can tell every time I hit the trail. Anyone else feel the same about their Talon ??? Please chime in

The Talon is a very good starter bike. I was on the fence about getting a XTC or Talon 29er because the FS bikes were just too expensive for me. I figure let me get the Talon and I'll just upgrade it little by little. Best move I have made. I love the bike and it has helped me improve my riding beyond belief.

No doubt about the bike improving my performance... and love the pic of todays ride !!!

We're having tornado watches and horrible weather here. So no riding- at least for today

I Loved my talon 1. great looking, great riding, and super durable. With a new fork it lacks very little Unfortunately, I bent my frame on a hard fall, but damn if I'm not still abusing the hell out of the giant components.

Love my Talon, the only complain is that rattles too much on the rough.

what tires are those? they look grippy, how is it having a grippy tire in the front and back?

I currently have the stock tires on my Talon (Kenda Small Block 8 - 29x2.1)...

I'm thinking of putting a Kenda Nevegal (29X2.2) on the front and keeping the stock tire on the rear...

How do you like the straight bar vs the stock bar it came with?

To me it's pretty much the same thing. Matter of cosmetics to me.

Thats what I was thinking too. I like the straight bar better- not to mention it looks a little bit shorter in the width department. Seems like the stock bars are 5 feet wide and when I drop downhill and shoot between tight trees it makes me pucker up a bit

The OEM stem/bar combo was too high for my linking even putting all the spacers on top. The stem had a 15 degree rise plus the rise of the bar, changed it to a 6 degree rise stem and a flat bar with only 2 spacers under the stem and for me is on the money; considering testing a 0 degree stem to see how it behaves.

In terms of bar width the riser bar that came with mine was too narrow for my liking, the flat was wider and liked it better; to me is not a matter of looks, its a matter of functionality and comfort.
