Anthem X 29: Is my chain stay dented? [PHOTO]

I'm the proud owner of a new Anthem X 29 O. I've not had a chance to ride off-road yet and today noticed what looks/feels like a dent on the drive-side chain stay where it meets the bottom bracket area.

Is that shaping meant to be there or is it an actual dent? The paint isn't marked at all but it seems strange they'd shape that area of the frame that way?

    Thanks!

IIRC, it's not. It's just the way to make/have more clearance between chainrings and CS.

My X1 has the same indentation as well so I guess it's supposed to be there or it's a very big coincidence Never noticed it before myself though I have to say!
