    AC Front Derailleur and Bottom Bracket Sizes

    Could someone verify these figures for an AC:

    Front Derailleur = 34.9mm (1 3/8") Top pull, top swing

    Bottom Bracket = 68 x 113

    I would like to reuse my current front derailleur and bottom bracket from my NRS but I'm at work , so I can't exactly go and take a look at derailleur. As for the bottom bracket, if anyone knows if the Shimano BBES-71 (68 x 113) will work with a 2003 AC, I'd really appreciate it.

    Happy trails!

    Yes the BB will work with XT cranks or the old LX (M571?), but not the newer M572.

    The front derr is the right size, but needs to be a bottom swing (pivots from the top) otherwise the chain guide mount gets in the way (at least it does on my 2002) and yo can't get it low enough.

    Thanks very much for the confirmation...I was able to locate a 2003 Giant catalog and you are right, the front derailluer needs to be a top swing model.

    For anyone that might be interested, the vitals are:

    Front derailluer = 34.9mm or 1 3/8" Top pull w/Bottom Swing
    Bottom Bracket = 68mm x 113 (that's based on a '03 XT...the newer LX will need a 68mm x 121 BB)
    Seat post = 27.2mm shimmed to a 30.8mm...or just spend the $$$ for a 30.9mm Thomson
    Headset = INTERNAL...e.g. Cane Creek ZS 2 or 6

    Happy Trails!
