2014 XTC Advanced 27.5 anyone got theirs?

Ordered one a few weeks ago and patiently waiting. Just curious if any are shipping yet. If so what model and size?</SPAN>

I ordered the 0 team model. Haven’t seen much as far as reviews go or that they have shipped any yet. Like I said, just patiently waiting but wouldn’t mind reading what others have seen so far.

Not many reviews of the 0, apparently the bike floats away like a balloon before they get a chance

Just picked up my 27.5 1 this past Monday and it weighed in at 21.1 lbs without pedals. I've been riding a 2009 XTC 1 for about three and a half years and the new bike feels so different its much much lighter and stiffer, it feels so agile and accelerates unlike any bike I have ridden its awesome.

I've had mine since mid October and am very happy with. Since my last new bike was a 1996 bontrager so I'm not much help with reviewing it. Mine is a small and was just over 24 pound s with pedals. Sorry mines an anthem I just can't read

I have been on an advanced 27.5 2 for about 6 weeks now. It weighed 23lbs no pedals in medium. Been real happy with bike. Doesn't beat me up, climb great, and accelerates quickly.

I know what you mean. I have had pedals and a 28T chain ring for a month now.

What is a "Skin" for the pedals?

I meant for the crank :-)

Frameskin for XX1 Cranks - Frameskin

Frameskin for 2014 XTC Advanced 27.5 - Frameskin

I figure I'll wait and see how she feels before I do additional chain rings, I'm used to a triple Trance to this so different gearing, but also way heavier and w/rear suspension

I'm in Gilroy. If your racing in the Sac area then you may come accross my brother (Ken Bruce). He is a pretty good rider in the area.

Thats my Brother. His Son is racing this year I believe and he is still helping with Folsom HS.

Now if I could get my new bike, I may come up there and do a race or two this year.

I've been watching the ship date for the XTC 27.5 bikes keep getting pushed farther and farther back, so it's not that the shop's are lying, I'm sure they're just telling you what Giant is expecting the ship date to be. According to our Giant rep they've sold significantly more 27.5 bikes this year than they ever expected and Giant is having a hard time keeping up with the demand. It's been the same story for the Propel road bikes, the date just keeps getting pushed back and back.

    So they do exist...

That is awesome. I am guessing that is larger than a small frame? I think the small frames only have provision for one water cage?

A lot of that weight savings are the Thunder Burt tires. They're quite thin and small with very little tread. I put some RR 2.25 Snakeskins on it, it's now 20.1 lbs. The Thunders might be good for some gravel road/smooth xc trail riding and such, but they probably will wear thin quickly on the trail and be very susceptible to puncture.

O-M-G -- thing is like a wet dream come true!! I did have an "incident", never had a fork remote lockout so I was having a blast with that and kind of forgot to unlock the fork on a technical descent ..OTB I went, handlebar, shifter and lockout got scratched up, but some work with a sharpie, automotive touch up paint and clear nail polish and it's not very noticeable. As trauma indicated, it was hell squirly in corners with the Thunder Butt's. I will admit my LBS warned me about the Thunder Butt in the front (it is dryer than hell here this year so all trails are dusty and loose), I had them put on a Maxxis Ardent, was supposed to race today, but my pinky and palm are pretty sore from the endo this morning.

Bummer... Not the way you want your first good ride to go, is it (duh)? I showed my wife your pics and she said "you better not do that when you get your new bike". I just laughed. I have come home a few times with similar results before.

Heel up quick and get some miles on the new ride.

Well I have to admit, the bike even endos better than any other MTB I've ridden ;-) ...def 2 things to pass on, get a different front tire and remember to unlock the fork on technical descents :-)

Just talked to my bike shop. Bummed to learn that my bike is delayed due to parts shortages. This will now make it over 3 months from the original order.

    Nothing to do but wait...

Ugh dude, that sucks :-( ....you'll love it when you get it, had a great ride today on her , btw I have named her eXtasy (all my bikes have porn/stripper names) ..that mavic ardent on the front was a rockin' combo. I rode a trail out here that I normally ride on my F/S 2011 Trance X2 ...I am on this "detox/cleanse" thing since 01/05 ..between the weight savings on the bike and the 18 lbs I've lost ..I was riding this trail with 27 less pounds than the last time I rode it :-)

I just put some 2.35 Nobby Nics on the XTC...they have plenty of clearance and make for a nice aggressive ride. Better in snow too...
