2014 Anthem Advanced 29er X01 retrofit (from XT)

I am looking into purchasing a new Anthem Advanced 29er 1 and selling off all XT parts (except brakes) and retrofitting with X01 group set.

    My list of questions:

    1) What BB do I use? X01 crank gives me options of BB30 or GXP.

    2) I believe I need to change out the freehub on the rear wheel. Is this something I can do at home? Is there even a hub available that works with P-XCR1 wheels for SRAM 11 speed setup?

    3) Internal cable routing holes for front derailleur. How do I plug these?

    4) What else am I not thinking about?

Use the GXP BB. Giant uses a PF92 BB.

I am pretty sure that wheelset uses a DT Swiss hub. I'll have to verify that but you should start there. I think it is either the 350 or 430 model?

Any LBS should have generic frame plugs for the routing holes.

    1) You need a GXP pressfit bb

    2) The P-XCR-1 wheelset uses DT Swiss 350/240 internals, so you need a DT Swiss XD body. It should be an easy job to do, there are enough YouTube videos about maintaining and removing/installing.

    3) ask your dealer, perhaps he has plugs for those holes. My XTC adv sl did have plugs for rearbrake cable routing. Or get a Giant Switch-R dropper post :-).

    4) enjoy after installing? Perhaps a nice coverplate for the directmount?

Hey man, I was thinking of doing the same thing? How does it ride and whats the total bike weight? (With and/or without pedals). Did you end up replacing the wheels or changing out the freehub? JW

I just got the bike delivered and am currently breaking it down. I am waiting for all the X01 parts to arrive. I've decided to sell the P-XCR1 wheels and go with Stan's Crest. I'll have to do the same free-hub replace but it looks pretty easy from the youtube videos. I purchased a Giant carbon seatpost/handlebar and expect the weight to come close to 23.5 lbs. when I'm done (w/o pedals). I'll post pics when I am done!

Hey. Nice ride. Can I ask how tall you are? And the length saddle top is from the bracket centre?

Sorry for delay. I am 6'-0. 29" from top of saddle to center of BB. Fits me perfectly.
