    2012 Reign 2 or new Trance 27.5 3

I have a budget of about 2000. for a bike for my son.(experienced rider)

    I found a clean 2012 reign 2 for around 1200.

I priced a new Trance 27.5-3 for about 2000. Big difference in price that would be used for dropper post ect.

Is the reign a good bike or would you buy new with the warranty ect.

Interesting choice, 26" vs 27.5" wheels, 67.5 vs 67 deg head angle, 150mm vs 140mm travel, 3x9 vs 2x10, A bike that retailed for $2350 for $1200 vs one that retails at $2125 for $2000
The Fox fork and shock on the Reign are better than the Rockshox. X5 shifters on Reign slightly worse than Deore on Trance. Brakes about equal, cranks close to equal, handlebar, stem and seatpost are same, so components other than fork/shock are about equal. How good of shape is the Reign? Will it need anything changed out do to wear that would eat into the $800 savings? Assuming the Reign is in real good shape, it might come down to how each feels on a test ride and if you want $800 in your pocket.

An the Reigb is future proof, meaning that it can easily been converted to 27.5.
I have seen a lot of people doing that in here
