    2011 Giant Trance X2 v 2010 Felt Virtue 1 adivice

    Hi Guys,

Just after some help for my wife. She has the opportunity of getting either a 2010 Felt Virtue 1 or a 2011 Giant Trance X2 for basically the same price. She loves riding Single Track and wants to move on from her GT Avalanche and go to a dual suspension bike.

She is 5' 7" and around 155pounds and is not into big jumps or AM but just loves windy single track etc. Unfortunately we can't test ride either of these bikes and we are just after some opionions from you guys.

Thanks in advance for any advice or input and I have also posted this in the Felt forum to get some input from Felt riders

    Cheers

Trance x is a sweet trail bike. Have not ridden the felt. But rode the Ibis, Tracer, and Rocky Mountain Altitude and came away liking the trance the best.

I would get the Trance X2, heck I already own one too! However all personal preferences aside I would argue that the Trance X2 has two three big advantages:

    1. 15mm Thru Axle Fork
    2. Tapered Headtube
    3. Shimano Ten Speed Drive System

However at the price points in question I think the Anthem X3 29er is unquestionably the best deal. It's a full suspension 29er with all the features of the Trance X2 and it's cheaper! The Anthem X3 29er is a very fast bike on the descents and is capable of riding some very gnarly terrain. Three foot drops are no problem with the Anthem X 29er. The Anthem X 29er is awesome bike to have for cross country or even all mountain riding,it's more than capable of handling anything short of some very crazy riding.
