    2011 Anthem v 2010 Anthem

Can i just ask a few questions about the 2011 Anthem.

Is it any stiffer than the 2010 model?
Whats the weight of the 2011 X1 like?

The 2011 frame has the tapered head tube and press fit bottom bracket--both of which are said to stiffen the frame in these areas. The 2011 also comes with the 15QR fox fork which is also supposed to contribute to a stiffer front end and sharpen the handling. Not sure about weight--I just bought the 2011 and with a few mods to the cockpit and crossmax wheels, i'm guessing 24-ish pounds, so probably 25-26 full stock

Tempted to buy a X1 and change a few things. I really liked my old 2010 X and should never have sold it.

As i'm sure you noticed, the 2011 x1 is quite a bit cheaper than the 2010x1. For me, the difference in price is what motivated me to upgrade a few parts right off the bat. Plus, i like what Giant did with the head tube and bottom bracket. Not to mention the 2011 is 10speed.

I don't know what the fuss Is about with 10spd. For some strange reason I prefer the 9spd

I hear ya...I was perfectly happy with 9 speed as well. the only reason i say that is that its "the latest and greatest" and was a change from the 2010 x. Unfortunately, 10 speed will probably result in the phasing out of 9 sp like 9sp did to 8 and so on....
