2010 giant trance x 4 fork loose
i just changed out the rock show tora for a fox float 32, now the fork seems to shake i can see movement in the head set when i press on the front break and push and pull front to back on the handle bars, my questions on the gold ring in the top bearing, does that have to be pressed in some how i can see a gap in between that bushing and the fork stem

Your stem cap should not be the part of your bike holding tension in your headset. It's for preloading the bearings before you tighten your stem. In a properly set up cockpit you can take the top cap right off and it won't affect the headset at all. Make sure your stem bolts are tightened properly.
