2005 Giant Reign, worth the asking price?

I am interested in this as an entry level Nike for myself, I am between 5'-7" & 5'-8" tall and a beginner on the trails. I am planning in doing the basic trails and progress from there. Is this a good starter bike, is it width the asking price? Thanks all feedback is greatly appreciated.

I am 5-6 ( on a good day) and I had that year Reign in the 15" model- fit great for me- it had a short top tube, but a long wheel base- just what I was looking for. Unless you have long arms, that 18" may be a bit long for you, even with a short stem- remember, this is an all-mountain bike, not generally used for XC riding. Did you test ride it? If its not a perfect fit, pass it up- there will always be another deal. And, by the way, its a great bike, assuming all the pivots are in good order!

I think an 18" is generally considered a "large". I'm 5'9" and prefer a bigger bike, so I ride a Large, but I'm technically supposed to be on a Medium according to almost any manufacturer's charts.

You need to hop on it and see. I'm betting it'll be a bit big.

Actually, the 20" is considered a large. I'm 5'11" with long arms & legs.20" fits me perfectly if that helps.
Sounds like you might be in the middle between an 18" & the next lower size. Great bike tho....

A little late here but 18" was the medium size for the Reign. I'm 5'9 and it fit me perfect. $500 is a great deal if your comfortable with the fit and it's not beat as hell, I'd say buy it.
    Bike good, work bad.
