    13' Trance 29er X1 vs 14' Trance 29er X2 (HELP)

I went to the LBS and they had a 2013 trance x 29er 1 for end of season sale at $2250 or they could give me a new 2014 trance x 29er 2 for $1850, is it worth the $400 upgrade to choose the 29er 1 or would I be better off doing the 29er 2. I already test rode the 13 29er 1 and loved it, it is more of more bang for the buck on this one. Please help me, as the 13 29er will not be around much longer. Color scheme kind of plays a role to I suppose. Your thoughts?

If it is better to go with the X2 and then just upgrade later, I would be open to that if you feel that option is worth it. If my upgrades would cost more than $400, which I have a good thought that it would, maybe I should just do the $2250 X1.

My wife just scored a 2013 X1 for that price and upgraded the wheels to lighten it up a bit. The shop just charged her the difference on cost between the new wheels and the stock ones, so it was just a couple hundred more. The 2013 X1 is a great value, especially with a dropper post at that price point. See if your shop might do a deal on a lighter wheelset, as that is almost the only negative I have ever read about this bike.

@progfan1 - Yea, that was my ownly concern while doing a test ride, I just figured for $400 more, in that sense, it would make more sense with the extra features, such as the seat post and overall components. What wheel set did she upgrade too?

    Clindari,

She got a set of Stan's Crest wheels, which are fine for trail riding at her weight. Depending on your weight, you might want to go with something more like Stan's Arch wheels or a comparable build from another maker.

Totally subjective, but I think the red/black/white scheme looks botter!

And the $400 extra for the dropper seat, Fox shocks, SRAM bits and Elixir 3 brakes can justify your decision to go with the 2013.

Thats said, for the price I'd get the 13 1.
