I received an '03 NRS frame as a warranty replacement for my '00 NRS. I hate the RS Sid rear shock. I'd like to change it out for a Fox Float. What size of shock do I need to look for as a replacement? Will the Fox off of an '04 NRS fit?

I like mine, I run it with the SGF 4.5 inch travel rockers: http://www.sgfcomponents.com/ - Cane Creek gives a $100 discount with trade in, but if your SID is still good, maybe you can talk your bike shop into giving you any old broken shock to trade in - you can get this through your LBS also. Then sell your old SID on ebay. I blew out my SID when it was 13 months old, and did the trade in. Also the Cloud Nine is rebuildable, you can do it yourself, easy.
Lots of people here run the Cloud Nine (or AD12- cheaper) do a search for cloud nine on this forum - you will get lots more info.
With this combo I get a plusher ride, a little more travel, still no bob when climbing.
I think I'm in love. Way too many posts with nothing but good things to say about the Cloud 9. Throw the $100 buyback in there and there is no reason not to buy one. Same goes for the SGF rockers - $50 on ebay ain't bad either.
My apologies for not searching better. A simple search for Cloud 9 shows this one has been beaten to death.
About the spacers - why do I need them and where can I get them?
Ditto what Al. said. I have his same setup. I love the setup. Very adjustable and i am still tweaking mine a bit. Ditto on the spacers. Just call cane creek and they will ask you what bike its for and they will build the shock based on that.
How do the NRS rides with the 4.5".... I'll be looking ofr a trailworthy frame and NRS's can be got cheap, but the limitedtravel kept me away... 4.5" sounds fine.
hey, nice pics, you guys have some sweet NRS's. I wish I could post a pic of mine, but I don't have a digital camera yet. As for the SGF's, they feel much plusher than oem, but since the NRS design is always run w/ the shock topped out (semi-active) the 4.5" won't feel like 4.5" on a comparable fully active bike, but I still dig it, the NRS is a wheelie machine!
I thought that deal on the C9 ended this past summer, or is it still going on??
I'm iced in this weekend. I think I'll take mine apart...
