    Your LBS could be worse

A friend traveling in China just sent this to me.....good reminder for us when an LBS may frustrate you sometimes....it could be worse

A lot of cyclists would benefit if there were more low-overhead options like this in American cities. From a veteran LBS mechanic, I bet this guy doesn't charge $60 for a tune-up that takes 45 minutes and then only pay himself $10.

We've got a local guy, Dave's Mobile Bike Repair, but going to the trailhead is a great idea.

    It is actually.

I live on a popular cycle route and during the summer a lot of cyclists go by. I've often thought of opening a little cycle shop at the house but it would never pay. Might be fun though.

Mobile bike repair is awesome...my point is more about the differences in countries and how we are fortunate to have a lot better access to quality parts & service.

There's a lot of LBS flaming on the forums, so thought I'd throw out some thankfulness for what we are fortunate to have....

Yeah, I don't see what's wrong with it though. The best bike shop is accessible and has passionate staff. This certainly qualifies as the former.

I get where you are coming from but my bet is that the guy in the picture can fix a heck of a lot of problems with simple tools and a smile. The issue people tend to have with their LBS is that the charge a lot for often substandard work, or try to talk you into expensive upgrades rather than do a fix.

Anyway, is it not scooters the guy is fixing?
