What does your Avatar say about you?

Just curious what fellow members have to say about their avatars, and of peculiar interest, why some use pictures of barely dressed women to represent themselves? I recall a brief period during my high school years when some kids would buy shirts with the Porsche or BMW logos, but they owned neither.

My avatar: This sign is located at the best local & legal single track option we have - Camp Tamarancho near the "birthplace" of MTB, Fairfax, CA. Its to date the coolest sign I've ever laid eyes upon. I love me my Tamarancho rides.

OP - Without the details you gave about your avatar, I would have guessed you are a non road riding mountain biker. Even if that is true is says almost nothing about who you are as a person.

imo, most avatars don't speak much about who people really are. I will have to admit I do enjoy a nice animal snarl once and awhile

My avatar on the mustang/ falcon forums is Buckwheat, so I have yet to decide on what to use here as I don't want to bite roadie scum's style.

I cannot speak to the motives of some who choose depictions of scantily clad women, but amungst images that get my heart pumping and testosterone flowing they top the list along with hotrods, guitars, tools, heavy machinery, sharp objects, things that go fast, and things that go BOOM

I'm building a bike having a single chainring to try 1x9 so perhaps a play on AZ.MTNS user title is in order that reads: One gear, mixed

Pretty straight forward for mine.....Chachi Arcola from Happy Days. I used to call people a Chachi if they just thought they were cool, but really weren't, kind of like how Chachi was on the show. My friends eventually caught on with me calling them a Chachi, so it then became a nickname for me. I added the Giant in front of it, as that is the brand of bike I will have...once it is paid for off of layaway.

Yes it is. George McFly hitting on Lorraine in the cafe.

To explain my choice of avatar & username more:

A "random walk" is a trajectory where the changes in direction can be described by a probability density function (thus the movie quote BTW). In my job I've used these to model mobile user motion through cities for evaluating cell signal coverage.

I love to hike & backpack. I used to keep a gym bag of hiking clothes & shoes in my car for a random walk after work.

Years ago I took a comical line riding up a steep, rocky fire road -- veering 90 degrees into some bushes -- and still managed to recover and clean the climb. One of my buddies riding behind me yelled out "Well THAT was random."

All this "gay" talk reminds me of, you know, when you, like, you grab a woman's breast and it's... and you feel it and... it feels like a bag of sand when you're touching it.
Also, you know how I know you're gay? You have a rainbow bumper sticker on your car that says, "I love it when balls are in my face."

Back on topic: My avatar is watching you touch yourself.

I like bikes. It's the first "real" mountain bike I owned. Now it's been passed down to my brother, after my uncle gave me one of his old race bikes.

All this gay talk and I am stuck with a colorful pansie as an avatar
I tweaked the color levels and liked the look of it, thought it represented what things are like inside my head ..

My lady can confirm the heterogeneity of my flowerly colorful representation of self image.

Since I love climbing hills on my bike, my avatar is a picture I took of one of San Francisco's steepest hills-the 31.5% grade Filbert Street between Hyde and Leavenworth. I climbed this hill and several others on my Bike Friday folding bike the day before Thanksgiving. Excellent training for mtb riding!

The avatar is an iron cutout of a mountain bike mounted on a piece of sandstone from Moab. Spent a week there in 2000, and this piece of art never fails to reawakened those incredible memories: the views as you drive in, the rock that isnít slick but more like 100 grit sandpaper, trying to focus on ever-changing trail conditions while wanting to look at rock formations from Mars, up/down/up/down/up/down X 1,000, burning in the core of your muscles, grip like a gecko Ė did I just climb that?, realizing you can die out here without water and how good it tastes, euphoria at making that climb, so thatís how it feels to have some remove skin from your knee with sandpaper, the incredible non-stop views for 360 degrees, the fatigue and sadness of riding out and loading up for the day, how damn good cervezas and Mexican tastes, bed, sweet bed. And, canít wait till tomorrow to do it all again. That kind of stuff.

Well as of yet I have no avatar so does that mean I don't exist as of yet? I am just trying out my training wheels around here.

What in the hell is your major malfunction, maggot? When you were born, the Doctor threw away the baby and kept the after-birth! You're so stupid, you think "Peter Pan" is a wash basin in a whore house! Now drop and give me 75, you scum sucking dirt bag!

Was a D.I. about three lifetimes ago.
Your fear of looking stupid is holding you back.

    Sssssssssssssssssss!

Mine says that I was born in the year of the snake. It also gives a warning to all that I am a slippery, slithering, sneak who is not to be trusted. A serpent who takes advantage of any scenerio he can, a manipulator, a prankster...

    Wanna be my friend???

    Ssssssssssss!!!

Whenever I get in the mood to change things up, I change to a picture that happens to "jump out" at me from my collection. That's all.

"Elsewhere", I have a picture up of a HOT triathlete riding away from the camera, with the tag line, "love watching you leave"; it just SPOKE to me on that day....
