What component group can I use?

    Hey all-

Looking at building up a mtn bike to ride with the wife (She doesn't like road biking), so I picked up a ~2002 Klein adept comp frame.

Pretty sure I can't use 29'ers on it, but what else is/can be used? I know it originally came with the Deore LX group (The FD is still on it), but that is scarce, even on ebay.

Doesn't need to be anything fancy, just enough for canals and simple trails up around the Mogollon rim area in Az.

Deore LX is now just called Deore - and for once in a while rides (and even more frequent) there is nothing wrong with that group.

SLX is pretty nice and very durable - but a bit more expensive.

From the Sram side X5 and X7 are comparable to Shimao Deore (lx) and SLX
