    Upgrade Components or New Bike

Have a 2011 Trek HiFi Plus 29er. Already upgraded the bars, grips, tires, seat, and put a KS LEV dropper post on it. It's 100mm travel FS bike (equiv to the Superfly 100 AL you can buy today). I'm 6'4" and 205lbs. I ride fairly technical so cal rocky trails (Rancho La Costa Preserve in Carlsbad, CA)

I want to lighten the bike up and I HATE the brakes (Juicy 3's) and I am considering buying new tubeless wheelset and tubeless tires and replacing the brakes and increasing the rotor size to 180/200 (from 160/180). All in about $1100

Bike is XL, weighs a bit over 30lbs with the upgrades I have already done. I figure tubeless tires will get me down 2lbs.

Alternative: Buy a Specialized Stumpjumper FSR 29r. Costs about $3,000. Has same X7/X9 shifters/derailleurs, but is a 2x10 (vs. 3x10), has an inch more travel, better FOX fork, 3 way suspension adjustment, Elixir 5 brakes, is tubeless and lighter overall.

Let me know what you think....!

You would still need brakes. SLX are 70 front and 90 rear from Bluesky.
The Specialized Hi/Lo rear hub is low quality and heavy. So you need a wheelset too.
I'd shop a little more. New RIP9 AL with an SLX build from a dealer is an option.(not on Niner site)

You might get the dealer to take some of the parts and give you credit to what upgrades you want.
