Time ATAC "Z" vs "Z Control"

I see that the Time ATAC "Z Control" has a machined surface, whereas the Time ATAC "Z" does not.

Does anyone have any comments regarding the performance difference? Is the machined surface grippier?

I can't find the MTB pedals on Time's website, I only see road pedals.

    Thanks for any info

I have a pair of the Time Z xx pedals (they have a tan cage) and I don't think the machined surface gives me an advantage as far as more grip. So I would'nt think that there would be much difference between the two pedals you are looking at. If the non-machined ones are cheaper then get those, you can always file off the paint on the cage. good luck.

Hey, the paint came of on my first ride. But the pedals are probably the best on the market.

I just swapped the L/R clips to get me 15 degrees of float and easier escape. The 7 degree float was very nice but was kinda afraid taking jumps because it keeps you in the pedals a lot tighter. So now I'm relearning exiting at 15 degrees...
