    Ti or Scandium: what's the skinny

    I'd tend to say Ti, but Scandium bosts the lightness and more supple ride than regular aluminum. Kinda like Ti but lighter weight. hmmm?

    Cuz there is some serious poo gonna start flying.
    Matters if you are talking hard tail or FS, cuz FS....well the material isn't as important. For HT I'm riding Ti and imagine it will always be that way. Being a 200lb'er I go for the heavy guage stuff. Really rides sweet, near impossible to dent the tubes. Clean it with a brillo pad, never oxidize. Ti vs. Steel, there would be a bigger debate in my mind. But vs. Scandium, unless you are a World Cup racer and getting every ounce out of a bike is important....well I'd go for Ti. Road bike is Scandium (Eddy Merckx RULES) and it's a friggin bullet. I'd be scared to see that daddy go tumblin down a trail.

    thanks for the input. It would be a hardtail, but I'm a lot lighter (130). I ride a ti hardtail now and I love it, but it does pack more heft. Just thought if the Sc was drawn and butter right it might provide the same feel with lighter weight.

    if you want scandium, theres no better than the scott team issue, the lightest and one of the stiffest frames avaliable. the size m weights 1,168kg.




    this frame is used by lots of pro riders here and i never heard of any kind of problems about it. its the most popular frame among the elite riders in europe.
