Holy shlt! I hope they catch those scum bags. I would have been out of luck with footage seeing how my GoPro is a handlebar mount. I like how the moron looks right at the camera not knowing what it was. Doh!

Probably S.A. by the sounds of it.
I would have shot that first hat guy dead personally if I couldn't out run him.

They had guns, not much you can do at that point except do what they tell you to do. But yeah, frustration level in the red zone.

These thugs are very brazen and most of the time on tik. Tik is a huge addiction problem in that part of the country, stealing bikes or anything they can get their hands on and then selling it for next to nothing to feed their addiction.

There are many scary places in this world, I'm sure there's some spots in the USA as well, you must just know where they are and try to avoid riding there, especially riding there all alone.

The robber must have not known that the helmet cam was on, or thought it was some weird headlight (even though that happened during the day)...

I was gonna say that I thought that it was fake but I guess it's real? Still seems unreal, though.

Odd that the dirtbags didn't take the camera because a camera is a camera and there ain't no hiding that.

He looked right at the bizarre object mounted on the riders helmet and apparently thought it was a headlight and not worth the hassle. Doh!
It doesn't get any dumber than that.

I'm kinda with you. Looks like just the runner was armed and several times he drops his guard and looks away. Smart thing is to just give them what they want. Coming in adrenaline fueled while on a ride and I can't say I wouldn't have taken my shot at dropping and disarming him to save my bike. I've got family though, hopefully better judgement would save me from my own testosterone idiocy. There's got to be a first time, right?

They did catch the three "tik koppe".
(tik koppe = crystal meth addicts - If meth was tik in Afrikaans, this literally translates as meth-head).

They have appeared in court and detained until their next court appearance.
