Suggestions needed on going wider bar with shorter stem.

I am looking to go with a wider handlebar, but in the end would like to keep my reach and rise the same (do not want to raise or lower the bar), not sure if I explained that clearly.

    Current bar - 690mm, 19mm rise, 9deg/5deg
    Stem - 90mm, 8deg rise

    New bar - 730mm, 20mm rise, 9deg/5deg

Not sure on which size stem and rise I should go with?

    What do you suggest?

Hopefully this is helpful but here's what I did:

Old bars: 685mm, 25mm rise, 5 degree rearward sweep, 6 degree upward.
Old stem: 100mm, 6 degree rise

Current bars: 785mm, 12mm rise, 8 degree rearward sweep, 4 degree upward sweep.
Current stem: 50mm, 0 degree rise

With this setup I lowered my bars and brought them overall farther back.

I also did some rough calculations for reach and it looks like you would want a stem between 70-80mm. I didnt do anything for rise but I'm going to guess around 10 degrees or so but I'm honestly not too sure for rise.

Wow looks like you made a drastic change as far as bar width and stem length goes.

I was leaning on a 70mm stem, and look for something within the same amount of rise 8deg, but I don't want to end up going with something that is going to increase my reach and raise my bars more than what its already at.

I'll see what others might have to say as well. Thanks for your input bassman1441.

I'm still trying to find my sweet spot on my new ride.

I think I still prefer bars narrow, but then I like snappier handling and my new ride is a little slacker /slower in the turns than my old ride so I have a bunch of variables I'm playing with.

Anyways when I was researching changing stems I found this free app which does the trigonometry for you -- doesn't speak to width, more what happens when you change stem length and rise and where you handlebars line up in comparison to your old setup.

Funny, I was just looking at that website and a few others.

But I also came upon this thread:

    Analysis: Handlebar and stem length

Seems like according to the math formula posted:

    (bar width / 2 + stem length)

I would be at the same reach with a 70mm stem.
