speedplay frog clicking noise
I put on a new cleat on new shoe, but pedals is older
I get a clicky noise and sensation on the left pedal, both top and bottom pedal sides did it
I wear the old shoe and cleat doesn't have this..
is something wrong with the pedal body?
Do you think SPD harder to clip in than the frogs? I need a varus shim and I don't think the SPD shim work well with frog cleats.

I have ridden Frogs for 15 years and have rebuilt the pedals 3 times and bought a new set for a different bike, and have replaced cleats twice and don't remember ever having a a "click" noise when putting new cleats on an older pedal. Now that being said I took a look at my old shoe which still have the old cleats on them. I noticed that the old cleat did not have the adjuster screw on the rear part of the cleat like the new ones. You may need to adjust the cleat to old pedal due to wear. Now the other thing is that the new cleat may need to wear into the older pedal. You should engage the shoe to the pedal without your foot in the shoe so you can flip the pedal over too see if there is something you can see that may be askew. I know its not a solid answer but I hope it helps a bit. I feel the frogs are easier to engage
