    Shimano Flight Deck Compatibility qustion

Does anyone know if the new Shimano Flight Deck Head 6502 is compatible with older wiring harnesses such as the sm-6500-m kit?

I have XTR M952 shift levers and I am wanting to get the new flight deck but I don't want the wireless kit that costs $89! I believe the SM-6501-M kit is a wireless version of the SM-6500-m.

have a look at the shimano site:

Should be no problem going backwards, I believe it's the same interface.

Be aware that if you're running an oversize bar that you'll need the newer kit cus the older one is not compatible with the oversize collar.

If you want to buy an older 6500 head, I've got one kicking around never used and in the original box

    thanks

thanks for the info...I've got a 6500 head myself but I was thinking about getting the new one because it is compatible with more than one 'bike'. I hate having to re-program the thing when I put on wheels with different cassettes.

and roger that on the bar size...I okay there.

    thanks again
