I ride 60% road and 40% single track trail in Texas with rocks, wooden bridges, roots, reverse-camber turns etc. I only ride when dry. I weigh 145lbs.
I want a lightweight fast rolling tire because I've been having trouble accelerating and keeping a good speed on the pavement. My bike currently has stock GT Kenda All Terrain 26x2.1 tires. It feels like a tractor on pavement and rides okay on trail. In fact I think it grips a little too well. I think a little tire slippage is fun.
I've been doing research and I've narrowed my search to the Maxxis Crossmark EXO. However, I'm still unsure if I should run dual crossmarks OR have an Ardent or maybe a Rocket Ron in the front. I'm leaning towards having dual crossmarks since I'm confident in my riding skill to handle washout and I won't be riding in any wet conditions at all. wut do?
