    RBR rest stop

Perhaps we can reconvene over here for a while, where we can find bona-fide smilies ->
and a format that's easy on the eyes.

Same here. It was fine the way it was, no need to screw with it.

I don't even know who most of you people are but I'm just glad to be in a relaxing setting finally. This format isn't jumping around and making me squint.

Sangria, anyone? Here, pass this down.

What does the Red Bull Racing F1 team have to do with MTBR?

Pretty sure if we look back in the history of this site we will find similar feelings to change.

Actually wg, I thought "monzie" was a particular name, seemingly french and from what I've read in history a guy who lived in a region of france as I schooled in, Gironde. I lived in Bordeaux for several years. I wonder if it's Anatole as his first name?

Just went to RBR and my eyes started bleeding. That just turned me off from ever riding my roadbike. That and the fact that it's a hand me down that doesn't fit right.

Truth be told, I don't really remember the last time I rode a bike. I went skiing last week. I ride a bike to class. But that's only a mile away. And classes are finally over for the semester. Maybe I'll get a bit of riding in later this week, when I go to a warmer climate for a little while.

You have to ride them, problem is by the time if I decide whether I want to ride a road bike, or a mountain bike, and then decide which of those bikes I want to ride, it's usually dark

So I just go get a beer.

Wait- who's reporting whom?? No need!

There's a thread with ten dozen pages devoted to "furry" mtb'ers, you guys can deal with some RBRers who are often MTBers as well.

All we ask is that you share your smileys. If you don't like my roadie friends, don't come into this thread. We're just chillin', not looking for trouble.

Sadly, I have to get back to work, but will check in later in between holiday nonsense. Maybe somebody else can put up the lights in here? Mix up some punch?

Starting to remember why I went over to RBR in the first place......

Christine, we already covered it. No one was reported. Boy, you road bikers are a touchy bunch. I can see why the lack of smileys is a problem. I'm sure feelings are getting hurt all over the place over there. Perhaps this will help lighten the mood?

    Barring that, how's this?

It's there to help push those gerbils and wombats further into your anal cavity. Being a picture of your cat Erik, I would think you'd know this. Also, MTBR mascot.

Okay, glad to see it's not all mayhem and chaos!

It's not a matter of getting used to the new format anymore, it's truly unbearable. I already forced myself to deal with the most recent changes, now I really can't take it. Maybe it's b/c my eyesight is going.

Pita chips are over here, pass these over do ya mind? kthx.

Where's FacePlant? Is that where we go when the mountain bikers kick us out?

    Now I'm afraid.

When are we going to receive the dreaded "upgrade"?

Am I going to start getting harassed for not wearing lycra on the trail?

Is there going to be an influx of training diet threads?

    lol

j/k....sorry your old site sucks. Welcome to the party. We have beer and kangaroo f***ers!

Those GR golfers packed up and left town faster than Tiger Wood's wife did. I wonder if our new roadie friends are not far behind them.

I think this place is generally roadie friendly. You might like it here. For the past several weeks, the only riding I have been able to do looks just like this. I guess I'm a shaggy as in shag carpet rider.

there are four other sister review sites left.
Outdoor Review, those guys should be pretty cool except for hating mtbers being allowed on the trail. Could be exciting.
Audio Review, they ought to be pretty dull.
Photography Review, pretty high strung, but will prolly stick in the cameras/videos forum.
Car Review, who will just go somewhere else.

I love that I can click one button and be in General, as opposed to clicking five times just to get into the equivalent site on RBR, then have to reformat after that, then click on random things as the page jumps around.

In any case, I'm busy in RL getting ready for the onslaught of in-laws tomorrow. They're staying at the house for the week. Their idea. I'll be racking up the overtime

Sucks that I can't access any good websites from work I miss bike-minded virtual company especially when I can't get any actual biking in

006_007 he did the same to me. Funny story, he negged me before and signed it so I didn't take him for one of those anon types. He's still okay in my book. I guess I just suck too much for him to deal with. WIN?

He negged me anonymously, for a very innocuous post. Let the Buzzards have him.

The RBR update was really poorly done. I don't really mind the format change too much -- surprisingly enough, I have better things to do than care about the format of a forum I use for free.

However, it's been really buggy. There are all those complaints about the rep and report buttons disappearing, and today my "multi-quote" button disappeared. It's still there, but I have to mouse over it in order to make it show up, and then it disappears when I take the mouse away. I've also been getting 400 Errors lately. These have been happening increasingly often, and now it's at the point where I can't reply to a thread or change the forum using Quick Navigation because I'll get a 400 Error every time. This only happens on RBR, and it has never happened before that update.

I'll give them some time to fix those bugs, but I won't be visiting in the meantime. Maybe I'll check back in the new year, maybe I won't.
Sometimes, I question the value of my content.
