Is it poor etiquette to fart on a drafter?

    Just wondering about this one...

It's better when you are climbing, and the guy behind you is really sucking wind!

Farting on them gives them more incentive to pedal faster and lead for once. Or they'll get woozy from the stench and fall back. Snot rockets do not get the same response however. I landed one on my buddy's wife while road riding...she was not too happy.

My goodness, I am so outraged at such a ridiculous question!

Of course, it is most definitely a gross demonstration of poor etiquette to allow flatulence anywhere at anytime, public or private.

There should be laws written to prohibit it and they should be strictly enforced with severe penalties!

    PS.

May I further suggest that you NOT use the "F" word in this public forum ever again!

Absolutely. It's not healthy to hold it in. Plus it gives you a little turbo boost to speed you up, which in turn makes the drafter go faster. Win/win as far as I can see, or smell.

    Hey there Scotty Ole Boy!

You forgot one thing! Newton's third law!

For every action, there's an equal and opposite reaction.

Once the noxious gas is released with it's turbo blast force, the drafter will either be blown further behind the leader, or he will lose consciousness and crash. Possibly even both!

Whatever the case may be, it will NOT end well for the drafter!

    PS.

BTW the leader will be propelled far ahead of the beleagured drafter! (According to Newton)

It all depends on the degree of force behind the turbo blast!

Farting can be used as a weapon. Completely acceptable.

Think this thread belongs in the XC race thread. I am going to try this at my race on Sunday to knock out some of the competition.

Did this in a triathlon once.

Did not realize I'd pasted the guy. He came storming around me, cut in front and blasted me with his own snot. I was taken totally by surprise and only figured out that I was the instigator later.

From self-righteous rage to chagrin in the space of a moment!

Farting on others though if they don't pull, they are asking for it IMO. It's a little wake up call.

It's not rude if the padding in your shorts is made with activated carbon.
Use it, use it, use it while you still have it.
