    OT: Satelite Dish questions

ok, just switched from dish to directv, and have the old dish reciever in the garage.
will a dish satelite antenna, (a dish dish ?) work with directv service and reciever?

I was thinking of using it in the RV.

How big is it? What is the shape like? Is there any way you could build a launch ramp out of it? That is what I'd recommend.

As a simple antenna, I don't see why it wouldn't. However, there might be filters in the line that wouldn't be compatible with the signal that directv broadcasts. I think they use the same basic frequency range, so the basic dish should collect the signal.

It should work if you have the DTv lmb and receiver.

As long as it only has one LNB on it it will work, multiple LNB's it gets a little more complicated. ( LNB = the thingy out in front of the metal dish....) Both companies use the same frequency band.
