I finally swapped all my VERY old Shimano drive train with new Sram parts (Sram 11-32 rear cassette, Sram PC991 chain, Truvativ cranks, Raceface 32T chain ring, MRP chain guide, X7 shifter and Med cage X5 rear derailleur). Seems to be a bit of slack on the chain on the smallest rear cog/rubbing!! I popped on a 36t front ring and its better now. Is a 36t (front) with a 11-32 (rear) a good setup for trail/XC riding? If I should go back to the 32T should I have the chain shortened? Thanx for any advice! BTW, this was a shimano 24 speed 3x8 now going Sram 1x9. I never used anything but the middle 32T ring anyway.
