New USPS cycling stamps with NO mountain biker. Lame.

Who set this up, Bicycling mag? I bought a sheet and at a quick glance thought the guy on the BMX was a DH-er. Later I realized NOPE.

WTF? When they came out with the sheet of muscle cars, they had five or six images- they couldn't have done that with bikes? They could have added an mtb and a recumbent.

Altho the kid riding a bike is pretty cool.

Who uses stamps anymore? Maybe you mail in your posts to the MTBR office? But seriously though, I don't think I've used a stamp for a few years; do everything online.

I have stamped mail going out everyday for my business. There are some documents, legally, I cannot scan/e-mail or fax; I also use stamps for marketing mailers. I think I'm in the low percentage of people that really relies on USPS. I'm even in a smaller group of of people that buy postcard stamps by the roll of 100.

I went to the post office the other day to ship a package.
It was in box with a beer logo on it.
There was no beer or liquid in the package.
They still wouldn't ship it because of the logo.
They said they could not ship anything with alcohol or other flammable liquid logos.
Never seen any beer that was flammable before but it sure would be cool if I did.

Went to FedEx and they didn't care what was on the box.

No wonder the USPS is going out of business.

They actually do a good job. Watch out for UPS on anything breakable - they seem to beat the heck out of everything.

I asked for those stamps at my PO... they didn't say "I've never heard of those..." or "Gee, I don't know...(let me ask)" I asked "Do you have the cycling stamps?" the answer I got "NO'.

I haven't had very good luck with USPS the last couple of years. Maybe a geographic thing, but I get much better service from FedEx and UPS.

Most recently, last month I started building up a budget SS for my brothers girlfriend on her old hardtail. I bought 8 items on e-bay with buy it now. 2 of the items shipped UPS, the rest priority mail. I just got the last 2 priority mail packages this week, almost 20 days after they shipped. One package went from Bakersfield to LA and back a couple of times and then disappeared from the tracking page for a week. It showed up as scanned in at a process facility in Capitol Heights, Maryland. I don't figure how California to Wyoming involves Maryland, but OK. Problem was it sat in Maryland for another week before making it back to Denver. Of the 6 items sent priority mail, one 1 made it to me in a week.

But hey, they are going to launch a line of outdoor cloths. Sad to say it, but I can see why they are loosing business and loosing money.

I applied at UPS once. They gave everyone who was applying a tour of the place so we could see what its like. I couldn't even count how many boxes the workers just threw all over the place. I think on a few I saw a large "FRAGILE" on the box. It was still thrown around with the force of a thousand suns.
