    MTB Hubs Debate

    Hi all,

I was hoping for some help in choosing some hubs for my tubeless wheelset build. I am looking at four different hubs for my rear wheel. Please need advice on the following hubs - Hope Pro 2, DT Swiss 240s, American Classic and A2Z. Which are the better all round hubs? Im going to be using Stans ztr 355 rims.

Which ones to get? Bearing in mind the following;- Cost, servicing, reliabitlity, weight and finally the performance of the hubs.

Any ideas on tyres and spokes as well would be greatly appreciated.

I do mostly trail riding, bit of XC and racing on weekends.

    Many Thanks.

For racing you probably want light hubs, and engagement quickness is just as important.

American Classic are moderately fast engaging and very light.
DT Swiss are slower engaging and very light.
Hope P2 are slowest engaging, moderately light, and obnoxiously loud. Very good front hub, flexy rear hub design without 10mm though axle bolt on.

I have experience with A2Z. Hadley mentioned are highest quality, very fast engaging, but not XC race day light weight. Probably the most durable fast engaging trail bike hub.

If you can afford it Industry Nine hubs engage near immediate and are very light.
