Lizard Skins - Replacement Lock-Ons? Other brands work?

I have some Lizard Skins North Shore grips that I love and have been using for about 2 years now. I'm a weekend rider so they are still going strong BUT I got a new bike and the red lock on clamps look terrible with my sepia/white/lime green bike. I contacted Lizard Skins and they want $20+ for the lock-ons alone. I could get new grips for $35 with the lock ons included.

My question...can I buy some generic lock-ons elsewhere and they will work?

Or can I buy the Race Face Strafe lock-ons that I want as my next grip and use those lock-ons on my North Shores until the grips wear out?

Just not sure if the lock ons differ depending on the brand/grip?

Lizard Skins grips are made by ODI, as are the Race Face grips. The ODI clamps by themselves are pricey but Jenson has a good price for those. I'm sure there are other places that do too

The other option is to research home anodizing, it'll cost a few bucks more than the new clamps, and be a bit more time consuming. For those who are into the DIY stuff it's pretty neat. I did my clamps, headset cap, some bolts etc.
Otherwise what boomn said is correct.

Thanks guys. Looks like that jensonusa link is a good deal. Or I'll buy the Strafes and use those lock ons til the north shores wear out. Thanks a lot for the info.
