    la rutas de los conquistadores

    Signed up for this XC event in Costa Rica this November, anybody have any tips, advice, suggestins as to how to survive. I ride a Specialized SJ.

    never done the event, and never will but i've spent a good bit of time in CR. For one thing the locals cheat by taking short cuts on the route. If you really want to win you should probably make a trip down there before the race and hook up with some locals and bribe them for short cut insight. Other then that I have nothing else I could tell you other than it is torturous hell in my opinion.

    Tip number one: there is an endurance racing forum
    number 2: I've seen in many places that there is a railroad segment that kills everyone. Try riding it on the rails and tell me how that goes.

    That's definitely in my to-do list for races in the future.

    ive lived their for 3 years. I know tons of riders there. they've all either admitted that they have or know someone who has. I've even been shown some short cut routes. are all the racers doing it, no. could the route be enforced waaaay more, you bet
