Just went biking where the Hunger Games was filmed

Went mountain biking with a couple of buddies in Dupont State Forest, and needless to say, it was incredible. Awesome trails, great waterfalls, and some of the best sights I have ever seen. Here's a video of footage from the trip. If you can make it out the eastern side of the country, I highly recommend biking in Dupont.

Anyone else want to share some of their favorite trails?

Dupont is an amazing place to ride. Brevard has some of the best riding in the SE all within 10-15 miles.

How easy is it to navigate the trails there for a visitor who will be riding alone? I live about 3 hours from there but have always avoided the drive because I don't know the trail.
I live with fear and danger every day. And on the weekends she lets me go mountain biking.

The cairns are well placed, but navigating with out a friend isn't something I'd personally do. I saw quite a few solo riders, but they clearly knew what they were doing. If you went early afternoon, I'm sure you'd see plenty of riders. That's just my two cents though. Hope it helps

Thanks. Is it one loop, an out-and-back, or a maze of trails and roads?

I rode Bear Creek/Pinhoti 1&2 solo as a first timer but that was relatively easy navigation as the trail network crossed marked fireroads periodically. Easy landmarks.

Just get a map from one of the shopsnin Brevard and go for it. You can't get too lost at Dupont. All trails are signed at every intersection and they are on the map.
Friends don let friends ride road bikes.

+1. Ask for the Pisgah Map Company map: it's the most accurate, nearly indestructible, and well worth the $15 or so. They make another that's Pisgah/Bent Creek.

Thanks guys. I just mapped it and I'm only 2:15 from Brevard. How can I be this close and not ride this trail?

Last question, I promise: Where is the most popular trailhead/parking area. I'm trying to coordinate a ride with a buddy coming from the other direction.

I normally park at Corn Mill Shoals because I don't mind riding a ways and like to end with Big Rock/Burnt, but it depends on what you want to ride. If you post in the North Carolina forum with 'DuPont' in the title, a guy name kjlued will probably reply pretty quickly.
