Had my LTD Race 2012 for a couple of months now, absolutely love it.
I don't see you having to cut the post, it will drop all the way.
Enjoy

Thanks. I look forward to getting it hopefully in under 2 weeks' time.
The seat post wouldn't drop yesterday when I was trying it. It was either stuck or the post is just too long but the guy at the store managed to get a shorter post from the cannondale SL2 that i was trying as well so I managed to have a ride around the shop on the Cube.
I'll post photos when I get it (before it gets dirty and scratched)

Nice one, I have a 22" frame but I presumed that the seat post would suit the frame size.
Please do post a couple of pics up, I love Cube hardtails
Here's mine ,one brand new out the box, one with muddy bits and one with my two babys together

That bear trap pedal looks scary!
I will be picking up my bike mid week next week! Can't wait. Will pick it up in the car so I don't get it dirty and I'll take some photos first before I use it!

Ok! Got my bike collected tonight!
Now, it's a 16" frame so probably the max recommended size for me (5'2") when I think I should be around 15" frame.
Can anyone please tell me how I go about measure the correct seat post height for me?
I found this link which should give me 31" from the pedal to the seat....
https://www.ebicycles.com/article/de...le-height.html
But this means I won't be able to touch the ground when I stop without either leaning to one side of the bike or getting off the seat and moving to the top tube?
Is this correct?
Do I follow the above link or do I really need to be able to touch the ground with my feet when I'm sat on the seat?
I'll post photos soon - it's too dark and I don't like posting photos from my phone. (I like to do it right - proper camera for photos! hehe)

Can't say i've ever thought about seatpost height as something that can be measured, I ride with what feels right for me, I ride with my seat fairly high and I like it for most of the riding I do, I only drop it when I feel the trail requires a lower saddle position.

Posted photos on first post!
Took the bike out for it's proper ride today. Just maybe around 15miles this morning. didn't go off road - I hate mud!
Still don't know how to clean the bike properly so used baby wipes when I got home. I didn't touch the tires. They're not muddy anyway. I just gave the frame and stuff a wipe!
My ass hurts! I need padded shorts or better seat! Or maybe I just need to get used to cycling!

Nice bike , but then I would say that
I must admit I was scared to get my bike dirty because I was unsure about keeping (modern) components clean, but 2 months on i'm riding it like I rode my old bike, the forks get attention every ride, wipe them down with a cloth and some fork spray, few pumps up n down and wipe away all residue, appart from that it's sitting in my hallway right now caked in mud.
Get out and get muddy

Just an update - I also now have a Cannondale Flash 1... but I have to admit, I prefer the shifting and especially the brakes on the Cube.
I don't think I like the brakes on the Cannondale. Avid Elixir 7 - not as smooth and powerful as the Shimano on my Cube (and I have bled the Avid twice!)

Shimano makes some great brakes. I have the XTRs and they are incredible.
