And a Thomson dropper lever. Can I marry the 2? Thoughts?

Supposedly polygamy is legal in utah right now, but bigamy is not. So yes, you can have a ceremony and cohabitate, but you can't make it official at the courthouse.

If you're trying to get the thomson to marry the GD... i think that's between your two seatposts and you should let them do what they think is right.

Yes but how easy it is depends on which lever you have. Do you have the covert lever or regular lever? Elite needs a barrel stop and the covert doesn't (pretty sure you can't order the covert lever separately however).

Ok, more information needed. So I have one end that needs a cable end, (that goes into the GD post) the other cable end is bare. I dont think I am going to find the correct size cable to slot through the Thomson lever. Is there a way to make a cable stop or is there one that is out there that I can rig?

How did you get the barrel stop made? Or is this something I can find at a fastener speciality shop?

If what you're looking for is a cable barrel, you can make one yourself. You need to find the right diameter round bar stock( probably 3/16"), most hardware stores will have what you need, cut it to length, drill and tap, then use a set screw to secure the cable.

Can you tell us where you sourced that cable knarp? I've tried this method, but the ones I order always end up being a lot bigger than they appear on the internet.

I had it made, aluminum stock and a lathe. Are you using the same lever?

I am doing similar project, using my front SLX shifter as the remote switch. The shifter (the switch now) is ready, I am ordering the cable ends crimp from ebay, see it will hold the cable well inside the shifter / switch.

the cable end is a bit long, so I will have to cut it to fit inside the shifter. The problem is adjusting the cable tension, the barrel adjuster on the shifter only move so far, about 4mm, I dont think it's enough. but the shifter travel far enough, I think, should be enough to pull the pin lock on the post.
will see, when I got my order.

No, I made my own dropper post, back in 2001, it was what GD got they're inspiration to to make and start a company on.
I used stainless to make my barrels, might have a few laying around if anyone needs one.

I tried the crimp method and had better luck with barrel/set screw parts ordered from BTI through LBS, being able to adjust the tension on the cable is key for the Gravity dropper, I found the set screw and/or barrel adjuster is nice. Kronolog switch has a built in adjuster as well FYI. The parts are for KS LEV post and only cost a few dollars. I searched and found the parts from a previous thread on this forum...will put them in this thread when I get to my computer.

Please post the parts list w/ images!
I've tried 3 times through the Thomson website to get info about ordering just the Covert lever - no reply from them.

ok, I am using my front SLX shifter as GD remote switch. It works very well, way better than GD switch, at least for now.
I cut off the other lever, only need the thumb lever.
and to hold the cable, I use cable end crimp, so far working fine.
I had to cut out the side of the shifter to allow the cable to move freely.
I don't have cable cutter, so I will leave the excess cable for now.
Not very neat, but you can't really see it, tucked under the brake lever.

My biggest fix for my GD was just buying the right hand lever for my left side, running it upside down, and installing an inline barrel adjuster to take up the tension.

    Zero complaints since.

I tried a lot of the mods here and eventually had the little stops slip. I used one from autozone, and I ordered one from a scooter website. They all failed eventually...some two months down the road, some two days.
