    Which Hybrid bike?

I am getting a hybrid bike for my wife. She wants a low entry and a mounted basket on the handlebars for our dog...
I am considering a Specialized Crossroad or Cannondale Adventure. Lower end models under 500.00

Specialized Bicycle Components : Crossroads Sport Low-Entry

Which one should we pick? I am still open to diffrent suggestions.
    Thanks for your opinion!!!

My mom has a trek 7300 which is nice. A bit higher in the price range, but at least it won't wear out as quickly and it's not too heavy.

Without looking at them I was going to say Specialized simply because they're better at making seats, but after viewing them I don't like the tube design of the Specialized. I'm sure it is fine and strong, but it just frightens me.
Flip a coin if you don't have a preference but I'm partial to Cannondale in general.

Another place to look would be Performance Bike - they sometimes have some really good deals on bikes that might fit your needs.
