How to choose bottom bracket for specific frame?

I'm curious as to how I can figure out which type of BB I need for a frame. It's a new frame being built on. The frame is a 2017 rocky mountain thunderbolts MLS BC edition. Looks like it will be press fit but do I just measure the width and circumference to find out the rest? Is there going to be compatibility issues with crank arms from Shimano to SRAM? Or possibly any other compatibility issues I might not foresee? Thank you in advance!

Maybe look for the specs on a complete same bike? That might help..or google add mtbr to search. That's all I got 👍

disappointing that they don't have the specifics on their website, but should be pretty easy to track down with the help of your LBS or by calling them Thunderbolt | Rocky Mountain Bicycles

you might also have better luck on the Rocky Mountain forum- Rocky Mountain - Mtbr.com

I looked too. It's weird the spec isn't listed. They use BB drop too - no mention of height.

You need to know the BB shell type and the actual spindle diameter and length. Current common ones are 30mm, 24mm, 24/22mm GXP, there's probably a few others. Several 24mm BB's have GXP adapters that basically is a 1mm shim to accommodate for the 22mm non-drive side of the spindle.

    I see:
    Thunderbolt | Rocky Mountain Bicycles

    BOTTOM BRACKET
RACE FACE CINCH BB92 PRESS FIT

Pick your crank then pick the matching press fit BB.
