Help me upgrade my Schwinn Mirada Sport

Hey guys, I just bought a new Airborne Guardian 29er and its great. My old bike is an older schwinn mirada sport 21 speed. I would like to upgrade a bunch of the older worn out components and keep it going. I'm just not sure what will fit.

I would like to upgrade the wheels and probably the rear derailleur. It currently has a worn out shimano GS100 with rapid fire shifters on it.

I used to sell Schwinns. "Upgrade" is a relative term. To "upgrade" the Mirada doesn't take a lot as I recall. If you just want it reliable, just buy more of the same parts. If you want something on par with your new bike, then just get another one of those. The Mirada is probably not really upgrade-worthy. IMO, you should spend that extra coin on stuff for the new bike (tires, pedals, light wheels, brakes...)

It's never easier - you just go faster.

I like my new bike but i will probably never upgrade it and ride it like it is.

I just wanted to put some newer updated stuff on this schwinn to make is a nice rider for around town and paved trails. It's been apart of my life for a long time and I dont mind putting a few bucks into it.

Put a pair of 1.95 slicks on it and be done.

It needs more than that. Atleast a rear derailleur as what's on it is warm out
