    Are headset spacers overpriced?

I had to scrounge up every headset spacer in my garage to mess with my handlebar height on my new bike, I want to leave it that way for a little while so I need to buy some more spacers to get my wife's commuter bike back on the road!

Do they seem way overpriced? I'm thinking about finding some schedule 80 pvc 1 1/4" pipe to make some spacers, I can buy a foot for $1 and cut my own spacers. . .

    I thought so.

Then I paid $15 for a handlebar shim.

How much are you paying for spacers? The last time I bought carbon headset spacers they were super cheap, and the last time I needed aluminum spacers, my LBS gave me a pair for free.

Just buy the spacers. If they are not perfectly square the headset can not be/will not stay adjusted properly.

Aluminum spacers are about a dollar each at my LBS. Can't imagine that being expensive, considering what we pay for wheels, tires and helmets.

I bought CK HS spacers when I built up my most recent ride. They were rather 'spensive but they were .00620g lighter then the competitors spacers so I forked over the dough.
