Ummmm, yeah. Sure. I'll go git me my credit card thingy right now since its a collectable.

Hmmm... just mount some semi-slick tires on it and it'll be transformed in to the perfect paved path bike for the typical american, and it'll look really cool on top of the hummer too.

Someone enlighten me. Why is there a 24" wheel on the front?

Immediately after reading the most reasonable answer, I will order two.

    It's a peice of crap.

It uses a 2.5" stroke PULL SHOCK, one that you can't get anymore, and the leverage ratio is 5.6:1.

This means the shock will BLOW UP pretty fast, and when I took a friend with that bike down a gnarly local trail, that is just what happened. I almost felt bad.

Why feel bad? It comes with a spare shock so you can do it TWICE!!! Just good feelings there.

The guy took a shot, I responded. Go milk your mom coward. I really have no interest in your lack of action. Punk wants to hide behind his keyboard and stereotype and generalize Americans, I will respond. I wouldn't expect you to stop mouth-breathing long enough to form a response.

So, someone took a cheap shot at overweight americans and SUVs, and you freak? You better stay inside, then. And don't browse around the web for anything. You're bound to see something that makes you go all unravelled, and then you'll start talking like an idiot again... or still, whatever.

On to the bike. 14"? Is that for the people that couldn't ride well with 6" or 7" to be able to do big, stupid drops like Bender? What a joke of a bike.

No, I am not. You just think I am. Sounds like a personal problem.

"unravelled"? That is funny. I wonder who can't take it? Seems like the guy that had no reason to talk crap, can't take a little heat in his face? Sounds like you... a person who had NO reason to chime in on the issue... also can't take it in the face. If you want to take the high road you seem to be talking about, then at least do it. Don't respond Mr. High K?

You can discuss the bike without talking about me the entire time. That might be another direction you could consider taking. You know.. the high road...

Some jackalope wants to generalize about Americans, go for it. If you can't take it back, then why start in the first place?

I responded... because i wanted to. And i found the comment funny. What can i say, fat people in big SUVs are funny! So are bikes with asinine amounts of travel. What i found funnier was how defensive you got. Carry on.

Yeah.. it is sad that people find the need to stereotype and generalize about Americans like they feel the need to do. It is refreshing when someone calls people like that out.

That still won't even do it. MX bikes only run ~12" travel. That seems to work well enough for 120+ foot backflips, wicked SX whoops, doubles, tripples, and even quad jumps....

That is what makes the bike such a joke in my opinion. Too much travel. If you need that kind of girth, make the FORK bigger.. like an MX fork, or even along the lines of the Fox36 line up. You know enough has become too much when you need that 24" front wheel!

Kickass! So if I buy one of those I'll be able to drop 300' to flat, right?

That's great. They charge that much for the thing, and then go right out and admit that you're going to blow the shock up. I'll pass, thanks.

Generalizations exist for a reason. It is not as if they are all that far-fetched. You probably don't fit comfortably in the generalization presented, but it does exists for a reason. Because someone uses a stereotype that doesn't reflect a specific person doesn't make the stereotype untrue. Americans can be stereotyped just like any other nationality. Our nationalistic ideals allow it. We shouldn't be offended. We should proud of our stereotypes, we work hard for them!

    Heck...

... I'm reluctant to get 5" of travel for fear of loosing too much pedal-ability. That thing would suck something awful up a hill.

    Reminds me of this:

    http://www.theonion.com/content/node/33930

Substitute blades for inches of travel.

(Most)Americans are fat, stupid, gullible, lazy, ignorant, racist, xenophobic, and generally should act more like canadians. There, I said it. Deal with it, it is true.

That is neato that you said it. Too bad the generalization is untrue. It is a pity that you would feel the need to be so irrational and ignorant.

Safe bet that you'd never generalize about folks of Arab descent, based on your flag waving ways. Don't I hear the school bus out front of your house yet?

No, I don't generalize about "folks of Arab decent". Why on Earth would I?

    I don't have a flag so I don't wave a flag.

Maybe that bike would be good to drop off a school bus. Just to see if the shock would break.

And no, you don't hear a school bus in front of my house. I live in a gated community. There are no school buses allowed up here.

Hmmm... no. That is not a problem at all.

Unless of course I had that bike and needed a bus in front of my house to huck off....

If it isn't true, why do you seem so defensive? Take a few trips around the world and see how we Americans behave on foriegn soil. It isn't pretty. Your response to this issue helps prop the generalization. Once again, generalizations don't fit all but there is some truth to them.

Defensive? The generalization is simply UNTRUE. What the hell would you base it on anyway?

Take a few trips around the world? You don't know me... Maybe you just don't know America. Nope.. no doctors or lawyers... no one with an IQ over 85... No professors or teachers... no universities that teach anyone anything. Nope... none... Nope... just a bunch of Hummer drivers that buy ridiculous long travel bikes.... Yeah... that is ALL Americans do. Perfect generalization....

Ridiculous. You just hate America. You don't even know why. If anything, YOU have more in common with common "American" generalizations than most Americans do. You are just a media-marketed lapdog for the whacko libby left. Born and bred to be brainwashed into believing that America is the devil and the populace are ALL simple sheep. You preach it and joke about it while wallowing in it all....

    Pathetic.

America is a great country and the people that make up the populace are incredibly diverse and capable. They are intelligent and compassionate and caring. In a short period of years they have climbed to the top of the world. Sometimes America has a back as big as her front, but so do you and I sometimes. It is the nature of the world. I don't expect perfection. I have no idea what you expect. I don't think that you do either, so all you do is hate.

America will lead the world after Peak Oil. They have already begun the transition in many ways. The entire human race will follow their lead as they did through the industrial revolution. It is exciting times for America and the world. It is all worth more than petty generalizations that come from farce turned into reality. Libbys like to create reality out of fantasy. These generalizations are just that. The ones that come from pure ignorance and are generally based on about 10 years worth of history. They are presented unequivocally, but they are not unequivocal. I will defend against them when I feel the need to, and I am not ashamed to do so.

I never claimed to know you. I love my country as much as you, just not as passionately. For someone who is offended by generalizations you seem to do a lot of it yourself. To say anyone hates their country happens to be a generalization. Even in your generalization there is some truth, I will grudgingly admit. The attacks you are making IS the truth in the generalizations you claim are untrue. Your insults only prop the generalizations. Asians like rice and Scandinavians love pickled herring are generalizations and there is truth to them. Just because it offends you doesn't make it less true.

The thread is about a ridiculously long travel bike. When Zanetti offended you by saying "typical American", are you claiming that there is no typical American? Just because you don't agree that the "typical American" enjoys a bike with semi-slick tires, a paved path, and some suspension, it doesn't make the generalization false or give you the right to insult. That is rude behavior and not a generalization.

Look what Wal-Mart is selling. They aren't selling many bikes that don't fit the generalization. Most of the bikes at the Wal-Mart near me are full suspension bikes that really have no business off road. In this case, the FREE MARKET proves the Zanetti's generalization.

Everyone generalizes. It is human nature.
