Good book! "Its All About the Bike"

I'm only about 1/3 through this book, but enjoying it enough to post a qualified recommendation here.

It's not specifically about mountain biking, but it's very well written and I'm finding it a page-turner. Author is a cyclist who's ridden (literally) around the world. It tells the story of his quest to have his personal "perfect" bike built. Lots of interesting stuff about bikes and building them--at least for a newb such as myself.

I even stole my new tag line from one of his chapter headings!

Thanks porchefan! Got tired reading these forums and was craving a good book.
On your recommendation got it and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Little bit of history on the original mountain bikers at Repack Mtn.

    Gravy wheels had whole chapter😃

Just had new custom road bike built so this book was especially enjoyable.
Will now pass it on to my cycling friends.

    Rep added 👍
    .....the end

AWESOME book! I "won" it at a grab-bag at our annual mountain bike poker run and enjoyed the HELL out of it. Then, I found out my wife had bought the same book for me and wanted to give it to me for I kept the copy I had already, and gave the copy she'd bought to another cycling geek. Spread the love.
