    Fuel EX 8 frame size

I am purchasing a fuel ex8 this week and I was wondering what you guys think about frame size. I'm about 5'8" and have a pretty aggressive riding style. I mainly ride xc and do some all mountain riding as well. Do you think I would be okay on a 17.5" frame? I have to special order the bike so sadly I can't test it out in the store.

    thanks for the input

Your LBS can fit you better in person than we can...

You wrote that you can't test ride it, not that they won't fit you to the right size. I can't believe a shop won't help you pick the right size.

They just gave me an estimate for frame size. They don't stock this bike, so I can't be fit on that bike in person.

I am 5'11 and ride an 18.5, so you are probably in the ball park. I have a 2012 model purchased last November. For me, the 18.5 is perfect and blast to ride.

FWIW I am 5'9" and the 17.5 fits me like a glove right out of the box.

Order the frame with the "top tube length" that you find comfortable to ride. Seat tube length doesn't mean much.
Duct tape iz like teh Force. It has a Lite side and a Dark side and it holdz the Universe together.

    I've had 4 Fuel EX bikes. I'm 6' and ride a 18.5" and love
the size. I do like my bikes a little on the small side, but for
you I think the 17.5" is the perfect size. The big problem
for you is the next smaller size would be too small.

6 foot here. I ride a 19.5. But like others here have said, everyone's body is different. You really need to find a shop that will fit you.
Whether you're peddling or twisting the wrist...you're still riding on two wheels...and that's good enough for me

I've read the top tube is shorter than stated and remember the '13's are a different frame to previous years 120mm travel. If the 17.5 ends up too short then you're stuffed, can run a shorter stem on the 18.5. Bit of a chance buying a bike you haven't ridden. They are a mighty fine bike though.

    Fuel EX 8 frame size

Trek is one of the most popular bikes made. Is there no other dealers in your area that might have a 17.5" in stock you could try?
Maybe the shop has sold one to a customer in the past and could get you in contact with that person.
