    Disc pad spacers

I am needing to bleed my disc brakes, I am looking at buying some spacers but need to know which ones to buy. My brakes are Shimano Deore brakes. Anyone advise me which ones to buy please. Or does it not matter as will either do ?

I would think you would only need one. I though about getting two, but then again I only bleed one brake at a time. It should not matter what kind you get as they all do the same thing. I went into my LBS asking if they had any I could buy, and they said "we dont sell them, and dont know of anyone that does, but we have plenty of them", and then he gave me one for free. Hopefully you have the same luck.

You can allows approximate the space with something else and push the calipers back in when you install the pads.

    From the Park Tool website:

"Install Shimano® brake block #Y8CL18000 in place of pads. If blocks are not available, substitute a block of about 10mm wide block to prevent piston from extending. Substitute a clean 10mm hex wrench if the brake block is not available."
