Could this help recover stolen bikes?

    http://www.thetileapp.com/

I've seen this popping up all over the place in the last couple of days. It seems somewhat limited, mainly by distance/proximity and the fact it's only available for Apple products at the moment. But once/if enough people get on board, this could be a serious way to recover stolen bikes. Drop/stick one inside the seat tube? I'm sure there are drawbacks but it's the best idea I've seen yet.

FWIW, I have no affiliation with this company...

Keep an eye on the Bike Spike. They should be releasing them soon. I am getting one to review on my website

Tileapp, I use Android only. Never been into Apple products.

I like the idea of BikeSpike, but I don't like the monthly cost, the overall size of it, nor the cupholder designed for it. Looks like a taller water bottle would fall out every hard bump due to the flared top edges and I dislike the carbon fiber look so I'd have to paint it or dip/wrap it or put it up under my seat and remove the QR on my seat since I never change the height.

What I do like is the live tracking, this could replace everyone's GPS unit they carry as long as it can record trace logs and speed.
    Karakoram...ZS44, X-Fusion, Freq i23, Tioga's, Shadow & XT,Shim Hydro 180/160, MG-1 pedals & more.
