can you put XT chainring on older M590 cranks

I gotta pair of Shimano FC-m590 cranks and the big ring is going to need replacing after a few more months.

Was trying to find ring for fc-m590 but couldn't find any specifically for that model.

Will a 4 hole from a XT just interchange with it.

    Possible stupid option.
Could you just turn the ring around the other way and start to wear it down that way for a shortwhile.
If I can't ride to work then it 's not going to be a good day

    Yes.

The Deore cranks use a standard 104/64 bcd. So you can fit just about any brand of 4bolt big/middle/small chainring you want, including the XT ones.

Re: turning round the rings, you can do that if you're only running one front chainring with no ramps on it. Since you're running a triple I'd advise against it, it will do funny things to your shifting between rings.
