Wow, and 5 kids lost their father. What a terrible tragedy.

His poor family. He sounds like a real stand-up guy that had a freak accident. As a father, this hits close to home.

btw- I misread that article at first because I thought it cut off where the "breaking news" line appears. Scrolling down to all the photos, it seems an honorable tribute.

This is sad. Do they really know that it was an accident though? Since it sounds like an easy trail, maybe it was a medical issue, like a heart attack that caused him to go off the trail.

This is my thought as well. He may very well have had an undiagnosed heart issue. Sort of classic the way the article reads. I hope that there is some follow up on this article as more facts are known.

Holy Shit... The first comment was from Mike The Douchebag Vandemann
"The man was born on third and thinks he hit a triple. But instead of running home, he ran to second base."

I thought about responding with something like "I'd rather live 1 day like Jason Delgadillo did vs a whole lifetime as pathetic, unhappy old man like Mike V." but no point in feeding that troll. He just cut/pastes this same tired screed on every mountain bike related article and goes on his unhappy way.

R.I.P Jason Delgadillo, I didn't know you, but we have enough in common on many levels that I know we would have been friends if we crossed paths.

That's the benefit of adblocking I guess. I had no clue what you guys were talking about until I disabled everything.

I had a response crafted as well, but decided to drop it. That guy is such a douche. Karma is bound to serve him heaping portions before long.
