    OK,

but I dont understand what is so desireable about a USA Raleigh? I have never seen anyone on the local trails ride one, so I guess there is exclusivity......

Why not get a cool UK bike, Orange, Pace or On One are places to look for starters.

I still dont understand what is so special about that bike? There are plenty of more mainstream brands with similar bikes that you will find in Europe.

Take a look at this, for example:

The best (read cheapest) is to go to the US

I don't know where in Europe you live but you will pay much less in the US (weak dollar and less taxes) if purchased there. I "smuggled" mine back when I visited last spring. No questions asked, no problems.

Other than that, try a bike shop.
